Brain Waves

Parachute Canada is Canada's national organization for injury prevention whose mandate is to educate and advocate for preventing serious injuries in our homes, is sports and recreation, and on our roads. Parachute works closely with provincial injury prevention partners to deliver programs across Canada.

The Injury Prevention Centre at the University of Alberta's School of Public Health is one of Parachute's closest partners, and the provincial steward of the Brain Waves program. The Centre facilitates and oversees the delivery of the Brain Waves program by university student volunteers to elementary classrooms across Alberta.

Brain Waves Student Club

The Brain Waves Student Club was founded by Students at the U of A. We are a diverse group of students from various faculties who are passionate about educating children and youth about the brain and nervous system, and informing kids on how to best prevent brain injury. These prevention messages are designed to help kids think first, stay active, be healthy, and stay safe. All this is packed into a fun and interactive educational program targeting children in elementary classrooms and hospitals. Are you ready to join us and make this an impactful learning experience for the children?
